R.I.P. to Phife Dawg, who was a key component to the success of the legendary hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest. At the time of his death, he was working on a solo album called Give Thanks. Check out the first single called “Nutshell,” with the late great  J Dilla on the beat.  50% of the proceeds from the song’s sale will be donated to the American Diabetes Association and the National Kidney Association.



Private Club Records are up next! The members of the collective include Royce Rizzy, Salma Slims, Madeintyo, Noah Woods, MyNamePhin, and Jay Mac.

Madeintyo spent six years in Tokyo, moved back to the states after high school where he joined an art collective started by his older brother, Royce Rizzy, called Private Club. 23-year-old Madeintyo and Private Club have already been getting buzz from the “Uber Everywhere” single and Royce’s collaborations with Jermaine Dupri.

The Diggin’ in the Crates Crew,  known as D.I.T.C., is  a New York  hip-hop group, deriving its name from the art of seeking out records to sample for production. D.I.T.C. consist of rappers, DJs, and producers that have achieved substantial and consistent recognition in underground rap circles. The original members of D.I.T.C. are  Showbiz and A.G., Diamond D, Lord Finesse, Fat Joe, O.C.,Buckwild ,Freddie Foxxx and Big L.

In 2012 D.I.T.C  called it quits,but in 2016 reunited (and it feels so good) and released “Make em So Proud(Hold Up) and then started a series of drops every Monday.

D.I.T.C. Studios is the dope 16-track album that features many of the drops from their weekly series, as well as new joints from Pharoahe Monch,  A Bless,  and David Bars among others.


The latest visual from GOD mc Royce Da 5’9 was directed by Rik Cordero, while on top of an apartment building. Bankroll Fresh,a rap artist in his 20s was shot and died while in transit to the hospital.  At 2:00 a.m. EST, the man’s name and information regarding suspects or a motive had not been released and police were awaiting a search warrant. More than 50 shell casings were reportedly found outside the studio, which 2 Chainz is a part owner of.
