Culture 73 spent a lot of time in London this summer catching a different hip hop vibe. We turned on our cameras and caught up with some groundbreaking artist and talked about their past, present, and future, as well as their impact on the culture. As we gear up for 2019 we want to share our 2018 London experience and footage with our community that appreciates the colorful artistry that contributes to moving the culture forward.  Whether this group of artists are doing songs with Snoop Dogg, or throwing the best hip hop club night in the UK, or being godfathers of hip hop, Charlotte Devaney, Emily Rawson, and The Last Poets are definitely artist the world needs to know.

Emily Rawson is one of the UK’s most in demand DJs and promoters. Her club night, Supa Dupa Fly, is unquestionably the biggest throwback Hip hop & R&B night in the UK and her all female brand, Rock the Belles.  In 2015 Marie Claire magazine named her one of the most inspirational innovators and granted her the Marie Claire’s “Women At The Top” Award. As the founder of the all-female DJ collective, Rock The Belles, Emily has played for both Kim and Kanye West and personally mentors women who want to make it in the music business. She has also worked with brands like Chanel, Nike, and Kopparberg.
